In this period, although we remain limited to taking part in various activities, we can still challenge our creativity and enjoy these moments to the fullest. On the occasion of Mother's Day, we would like to list our favorite activities to mark this sweet celebration. Whether you're with your mom or remotely via platforms such as FaceTime, Zoom, and Skype, here are our great plans that fit in perfectly. We wish you a happy day with your dear mother.
1. SHARE A MEDITATION SESSION
Begin your mother-daughter day with a meditation session to settle down and refocus. This time will allow you to take deep breaths while contemplating the beautiful activities you have planned for the day. We love meditation applications such as Headspace and Petit Bambou.
2. PREPARE A HOMEMADE BRUNCH
A tasty brunch will make your mommy so happy. We are thinking of little treats, reinvented pancakes, avocado toasts, fluffy pancakes, smoothies bowls, and Benedictines. Also, we share with you ''The Perfect Moroccan Brunch'' signed Half Baked Harvest as well as the cool recipes from our favorite magazine The Carton. A guaranteed delight, you will find elaborate recipes as well as a few snapshots to further inspire you.
Vibrate to the sound of various melodies and songs. Make a common playlist and dance to the fullest. This activity is just as nice at home or on your terrace. Practice your belly dance movements by listening to ''Yalla Bina Yalla''.
4. WATCH YOUR FAVORITE SERIES
We love mother-daughter moments around our favorite series. Must-haves include Gilmore Girls, Friends, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Ten Percent. Also, enjoy a homemade popcorn - we love to enjoy our popcorn with a tasty pinch of Fattoush Girls' zaatar.
5. PASTRY TASTING
Plan a moment with your mother to savor fine pastries from the Maghreb and the Middle East such as chebakias, gazelle horns, baklavas, and kenafeh. We particularly appreciate the pastries from Mahrouse who offer home delivery. This formula fits perfectly with a hot mint tea.
6. TAKE A MOMENT OF SELF-CARE
We greatly appreciate these warm moments of self-care where we relax and take care of ourselves. We invite you to make a homemade bath salt. We love green tea bath salt - 1 cup Epsom salt, the content of 2 to 3 green tea bags, and about ten drops of essential oil of your choice. Also, we suggest the version composed of Epsom salt, Himalayan pink salt, rose petals, a few drops of essential oils such as eucalyptus. Then, it's time for a homemade manicure and a little pedicure.
7. CREATE A PHOTO ALBUM
We love archives and photo albums - they bring back good memories and allow us to share new ones. Select your most recent photos or those from before, prepare a folder, and plan a possible time to place your order online for digital prints.
8. VISIT A VIRTUAL MUSEUM & CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
We are so blessed to have access to a multitude of online museum discoveries and visits in support of the Google Arts & Culture mobile application. This vibrant platform also features a rich variety of archives, places, collections, experiences, and unique explorations. Your curiosity will lead you to discover the wonders and transport you to different eras.
9. OFFER A BOUQUET OF FLOWERS
Always a great pleasure to receive and offer a bouquet of flowers, especially during sweet celebrations. Your mother will be pampered to receive a beautiful bouquet at home. Fortunately, considering the current situation, some local florists still offer floral arrangements and some seasonal bouquets. Alternatively, you can make a small homemade bouquet out of colored paper.
10. TIME TO CREATE!
An artistic activity remains a must to celebrate Mother's Day. Have fun painting your creativity on a canvas, drawing inspiration from images that make you happy. Add color to a few pages of your coloring book. It's a great activity to relax and enjoy the moment.
